Many artists would like to have their work online. A web site provides global and instant access to their paintings. With a click of the mouse a painting can be enlarged and information about the painting can be viewed. An unlimited collection of paintings can be stored on a web site. Some of the paintings can be displayed sequentially. Please look at the paintings from Yrjo Edelmann (Courtesy of Norstamp.com) on the lower right side.

This is a summary of the requirements to create a new web site:

• Domain Name: www.yourname.com
• Web Host: The company that stores the computer files.
• Developer: The person that creates the web site.

For a basic 5 page web site, the charge is $995 and will include the elements below:

• The domain name must be purchased from Network Solutions. The charge for a domain name for 2 years is $72. First we need to check that the domain name that you wish to use is available. After the domain name is purchased it usually takes 48 hours before the domain name is usable.
• 5 Web Pages 8.5 x11 - up to 250 words per page
• Up to 4 Images per Web Page. The images can be scanned or you can provide GIF or JPG files. Photographs can be directly converted to digital form instead of scanning pictures.
• Navigation Control Panel on the left side. This is a narrow frame that contains links to the Home page, Contact page, other web pages or other web sites.
• Contact Page that allows users to easily send you a message via email.
• Main Page Counter
• Custom Meta-Tags, Keywords and Descriptions for the Search Engines.
• Web Hosting for 2 years.

OPTIONS

• The charge for additional work is $50/hour.
• Your own web hosting account can be purchased for a yearly fee of $250. Hostway.com offers 5 email accounts, 200 MB disk and 6GB of traffic with every web hosting account. It also has the advantage that the address for your web site will show on top of the browser as www.yourname.com instead of www.3phw.com/yourname. For additional information please visit Hostway.com
• After the initial two years, there will be a yearly charge of $150 to keep the web site running.
• Search Engine Submission: SubmitWizard.com will register your web site with 200 search engines. A one time submission costs $59 but it does not work very well. A monthly automatic resubmission works better and costs $249/year. For additional information please visit: SubmitWizard.com
